Development Process
Ms. VBA has a simple step-by-step project development process. We keep you informed every step of the way so you're never surprised when you get the bill. We'll work with you to create a user-friendly solution that is on time and on budget.
Step 1: Review Client's Needs
The first step is to meet with you and your team (either over the phone or in person) to discuss your specific requirements. We'll ask questions about what version of Office you are using, how many users will be using the system, and what you hope to accomplish in creating the application. This helps us tailor a solution to your needs and budget.
Step 2: Provide an Estimate
Once we've established the basic requirements, Ms. VBA will send a detailed estimate for your approval free of charge. Depending on the complexity and scale of the project, we may create a detailed Statement of Work (SOW) once you have reviewed and approved the initial estimate. The SOW describes the project in great detail and typically includes screenshots of the application for your approval. It will include a Project Summary as well as detailed Functional Requirements and describe the Change Control Process so we all know what to expect during development. This helps us ensure that we're all on the same page and that you will be completely satisfied with the end result with no possibility of sticker shock.
Step 3: Create the First Draft
Development of the solution begins upon approval of the Statement of Work (if needed) and/or the estimate. Each input/output object will be created; however, all functionality may not be present and/or complete. This allows us to create a working sample of the application while easily allowing for modifications and changes in the next step.
Step 4: Review with Client
With the first draft of the solution created you will be able to see exactly how the end system will function once it is complete. At this stage you will be asked to review and provide feedback on any changes you would like made. Any suggested changes outside of the Statement of Work or original estimate will follow a simple Change Control Process: we estimate the additional time/cost (if any) for the additional work and submit the impact on the timeline/budget change your approval.
Step 5: Complete the Project
Once you have submitted your review of the first draft any loose ends or nonfunctioning pieces will be corrected and any approved revisions will be implemented. A certain number of hours for bug fixes will be allotted in the Statement of Work. Additional changes and updates may be submitted to Ms. VBA after delivery of the final application and will be treated as "ad-hoc" changes which are charged at an hourly rate.
